All systems feature dual plasma viewing; a 40 MHz solid-state RF generator operating freely; a double monochromator; and a dual back-illuminated charge-coupled device detector (DBI-CCD). SPECTROMETER SPECIFICATIONS Double monochromator The OPTIMA 2000 ICP-OES uses a unique double monochromator optical system. The first, or pre-selection monochromator, selects a small portion of the spectrum around the analytical line of interest. The second, the high-dispersion Echelle-based monochromator, disperses the narrow wavelength. This unique design results in a high-speed, high light throughput optical system that offers excellent resolution, all in a compact system.
