History
Agriculture is one of the oldest industrial sectors, beginning with the shift from hunting and gathering to settled farming and animal husbandry. Over time, hand tools gave way to animal-drawn implements, then to mechanized equipment during the industrial era. Tractors, harvesters, and specialized field machines steadily improved productivity, while modern agriculture has continued to adopt more precise, efficient machinery for planting, harvesting, feeding, and crop handling.
Applications
Agricultural machinery is used across crop production and livestock operations. Common applications include soil preparation, seeding, spraying, mowing, baling, harvesting, transport, and feed handling. Equipment such as combines, balers, disc mowers, feeder and mixer wagons, bale processors, and applicators supports larger-scale farm work and seasonal labor demands. Dairy farming equipment is used in animal care and milk production, while trailers and other handling machines help move crops, hay, and inputs around the farm.
