Caterpillar

Origins

Caterpillar was founded in 1925 through the merger of Holt Manufacturing Company and C. L. Best Tractor Co. Its roots go back to the early development of track-type tractors in California, machines designed to work better on soft ground.

Growth

The company quickly became a major name in heavy equipment, especially in construction, earthmoving, and road building. Caterpillar expanded through innovation, diesel technology, and a strong global dealer network.

Today

Today, Caterpillar is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of construction and mining equipment, as well as engines and industrial machinery. The Cat brand is recognized worldwide for durability and large-scale performance.
